Jean Monnet Activities are designed to promote excellence in teaching and reseJM 30th anniversary web banner arch in the field of European Union studies worldwide. The activities also foster the dialogue between the academic world and policy-makers, in particular with the aim of enhancing governance of EU policies.

European Union studies comprise the study of Europe in its entirety with particular emphasis on the European integration process in both its internal and external aspects. The discipline also covers the role of the EU in a globalised world and in promoting an active European citizenship and dialogue between people and cultures.


Jean Monnet Activities at CES

The Centre for European Studies has been implementing various Jean Monnet Projects since 2010.The first project implemented was  Jean Monnet Module on "European Integration and the South Caucasus” (2010-2013).

In 2015, the Centre for European Studies of Yerevan State University became one of 9 universities which implemented Jean Monnet Network: "Network For Developing the European Studies in Caucasus" (DESCNet project, 2015-2018). The Project coordinator was University of Tartu, Estonia.


Today the centre implements Jean Monnet Module: “Migration policy challenges in the EU and the South Caucasus”  starting from September 2016
