Round Table Discussion on UNHCR’s role and mandate

On May 22, a special session was held by the Centre for European Studies within the frames of the Jean Monnet module “Migration Policy Challenges in the EU and the Caucasus” with Anahit Hayrapetyan, Head of External Relations and Public Affairs at UNHCR Armenia.

During the session UNHCR representatives mainly spoke about  Refugee situation in Armenia and worldwide  and UNHCR’s role and mandate. Round table participants were interested in number of refugees and asylum seekers in Armenia, the situation in the region and increasing number of Indian migrants in country. Mrs Hayrapetyan also talked about the  policies  and activities of the organisation and legislative initiatives in general. The event ended with quiz.

The event was attended by students of the MA in European Studies, researchers and teaching team of the JM Module on Migration policy challenges in the EU and the South Caucasus.
