On July 12-14 , REDEMOS project participated in the workshop on “Democracy Support Strategies in the European Union’s Neighbourhood” took place in Amsterdam under the hospices of the European International Studies Association (EISA).
The workshop was supported by three Horizon Europe projects:
- REDEMOS: Reconfiguring EU Democracy Support – Towards a sustained demos in the EU’s Eastern Neighbourhood.
- SHAPEDEM-EU: Rethinking and Reshaping the EU’s Democracy Support in its Eastern and Southern Neighbourhood.
- EMBRACE: Embracing Change: Overcoming Blockages and Advancing Democracy in the European Neighbourhood.
The workshop was convened by the REDEMOS project team, Prof. Theofanis Exadaktylos , the University of Surrey and Dr. Madalina Dobrescu from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Dr. Marina Rabinovich representing the Kyiv School of Economics, Diana Ranga-Enachii and Dr. Mihai Turcanu from IDIS Viitorul. The Centre for European Studies of the Yerevan State University was represented by REDEMOS team leader Dr Arusyak Aleksanyan and Prof. Ashot Aleksanyan from the Yerevan State University.
The workshop aimed to explore the nexus between current affairs and the challenges to democratisation and democracy at large and in the EU neighbourhood in particular.
