On December 10, 2019 the Global Campus of Human Rights Assembly gathered at the Centre for Human Rights at the University of Pretoria. The organisational meeting of the Global Campus of Human Rights Assembly was organised within the frames of #HRDA20Years: Twenty Years of righting wrongs in Africa event which was aimed at celebrating 20th Anniversary of the Master’s in Human rights and Democratisation in Africa (HRDA) programme. The event included Centre for Human rights Graduation, Sub-regional Launch of UN Global Study on Children Deprived of Liberty and Meetings of the Global Campus of Human rights Assembly and Council.
The organisational meeting of the Global Campus(GC) of Human Rights Assembly among other agenda items included appointment and election of new Global Campus of Human Rights Council, as well as approval and endorsement of candidates for GC Human Rights President – Veronica Gomez, and Vice Presidents – Elina Pirjatanniemi, Felipe Gomez, and Frans Viljoen. Prof. Dzidzek Kedzia, became Honorary President of the Global Campus of Human rights.
The Centre for European Studies was represented by programme Coordinator of the Master’s programme in Human rights and Democratisation in the Caucasus(CES Programme), Kristine Gevorgyan, and Ms Mariam Muradyan Researcher/Coordinator of local activities devoted to Children’s Rights Protection. The Assembly meeting was also attended by Dr Nino Lapiashvili, programme coordinator of the CES Programme at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.
